Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family Douglas House Sr, at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, in Port Saunders, NL, on Saturday, January 6th, 2017 at the age of 96 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his 8 children Reg (Joyce), Bertha, Doug (Maureen), Otto (Adelaide), Linda (Lewis), Rod (Evelyn), Genevieve, and Juanita (Clement); his 25 grandchildren; 46 great- grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; his 3 sisters; Olive McGinn, Connie Payne, and Hepsey (Alonzo) Patey and one brother Winston. Douglas was predeceased by his wife Mary Alice of 76 years; son Archibald; granddaughter Elizabeth; parents Grant and Sarah House; brothers Garland, Raymond, and Clayton; sisters Ella Lavers and Phobia Kennedy; his daughter-in-law Amelia; son-in-laws Henry, Fred, and Warren; his brother-in-law Douglas Payne, and sister-in-law Loretta. The family will be receiving family and friends at The St. Peter’s Anglican Church in River of Ponds, on Monday, January 8th, 2018, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service took place on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018, at 2:00 pm, with Rev Clare Stewart officiating and the burial followed at the Anglican Church cemetery in Spudgells Cove.
