It is with sad and heavy hearts we announce the death of Marie Agnes Blanchard. Agnes at the age of 91 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends, January 6, 2018 at the Foyer Pere Fiset, Cheticamp, NS.
She was born Jan. 21, 1926 to the late John and Clothilde (Ivy) Harris, Plateau, NS.
She is survived by her children, Enid Blanchard, Cheticamp, Carol Blanchard, Belle Cote, Celena Hart, Margaree Valley, Sandra (Neil) MacDougall, Antigonish, Jeannine (Walter) Gillis, Dartmouth, Roger (Judy) Blanchard, Sydney; grandchildren, Michelle (Todd), Terri Ann (Andrew), Adam (Emmy), Matthew (Diane), Stephanie (Paul), Bradley (Aurealyn), Christopher (Danielle), Angela (Kevin),Glen, Nicole (Kevin), Bruce (Courtney), Jill (Rugerro), Bryan, Alicia (Alex), Megan and 14 great grandchildren.
Agnes is also survived by siblings, Dora Mae Poirier, Marie Louise (Henri Edward) Deveau, Willie (Annette); sisters-in-law, Celena Bond, Sydney, Lucy Jane Chaisson, New Waterford; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; son-in-law, Fred Hart; siblings, Marie, Marie Louise, Lucie Anne, Joseph, Marie Cecile, Tommy (3 yrs), Tommy, Eveline, Patrick and Germaine.
Visitation will be held at the Belle Cote Community Centre, Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9. Funeral Service to be held at St. Michael’s Church, East Margaree, Sat. Jan 13th at 11 a.m. with Fr. MacDonald Ibeh officiating. Family flowers only please.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory Agnes may be made to a charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Funeral Co-operative.
