Alice (Hicks) Sears
Sackville, N.B.- It is with sadness, but also with peace of heart, that we announce the passing of Alice Sears, at the Drew Nursing Home on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Alice passed away two months short of her 99th birthday.
Born on February 25, 1919 in Sackville, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Bessie (Rayworth) and Aaron Hicks.
Alice will be lovingly remembered by her son, Kirby (Karen) Sears of Sackville, N.B.; granddaughter, Natalie (Donald Leaman) of Salisbury, N.B.; great-granddaughter, Desiree (Tanner Sagouspe) of Fredericton, N.B.; her daughter, Brenda (Alistair) Estabrooks of Sackville, N.B.; grandson, Todd (Bettyjo) Estabrooks; great-granddaughter, Robin (Scott) Kendall); great-great-granddaughter, Sierra, all of Wabush, Labrador; great-granddaughter, Karly of St. John’s NFLD; granddaughter, Tracy (Bain Sims) of Moncton, N.B.; daughter-in-law, Donna (Donald) Sears of Fredericton, N.B., and her grandson, Aaron Sears of Moncton, N.B.
Besides her parents, Alice was pre-deceased by her husband, Hudson Sears in 1998, as well as by her eldest son, Donald Sears in 2015.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Alice’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. There will be a celebration of her life on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 2-4 pm at the funeral home and all are welcome to attend. The burial will take place in the spring in the Midgic Cemetery.
