Marjorie Jean (Taylor) McKay

Marjorie Jean (Taylor) McKay
Marjorie passed away on January 9, 2018 at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home at the age of 90. She was born on May 7, 1927 in Glen Falls, NB. She was the daughter of the late Austin and Bessie (Martin) Taylor. She was predeceased by her sisters, Neruda Brannen (Havelock), Audrey Kellegrew (Rhodes) and Roberta Taylor; a brother, Lloyd, who was a bomber pilot and died during WWII and daughter, Roberta Joy McKay.
Marjorie will be greatly missed by her husband, Raymond; daughter, Reta; son, Merrill (Mavis) and granddaughter, Sarah Wilson (Chris) and great granddaughter, Christen; as well as many other family members and friends.
Marjorie was a dedicated Bible believing person who lived what she believed. She loved the LORD Jesus Christ and was a firm believer that God answers prayer. In her youth, she was a part of CGIT (Canadian Girls in Training) and President of the young people’s group at her church.
At the beginning of her marriage, she attended Bethany Bible College in Yarmouth for a year. While at Bethany she travelled rain or shine side-saddle from her residence to college classes and work on a motorcycle with her husband.
Her husband Raymond credits her with a PHT (pushing hubby thru) so he could get his engineering degree. Marjorie used her Secretarial Diploma to work so Raymond could concentrate on his studies during the college year. Raymond was in the Navy during the summers he was going to college.
She held Good News clubs in her home for the neighborhood children, taught Sunday School when she was able, as well as other church activities.
Marjorie was a dedicated mother, an example to her children and other family and was always there when her children and husband needed her.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the doctors, nurses, resident assistants, housekeeping staff, kitchen staff and anyone else they missed at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home for all the care they provided when Marjorie was in their care.
