It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ellen Rowena House (Hopkins) announce her passing on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Long Term Care facility in Corner Brook. She leaves to mourn one daughter and five sons; son David (Oveta) Hopkins and family from Marathon, Ontario, Valetta (Gary) Lawrence and her family from Fort McMurray, Alberta, Frazer (Leslie) House and family from Drayton Valley, Alberta, Blayne (Dorothy) House and family from Pasadena, Newfoundland, Darrel (Karen) House and family from Newport Station, Nova Scotia, Trent House and family from Cranbrook, British Columbia, and daughter-in-law Sharon Hopkins and family from Corner Brook, Newfoundland. She also leaves behind one brother Neville (Lucy) Hopkins, sisters Ursula (Carl) May, Maude Smith, Zena (Herbert) Smith and brother-in-law Mack (Eileen) House. Ellen has 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ellen was pre-deceased by her loving husband Freeman House, her son Donald Hopkins, her parents George and Ena Hopkins, her sister Stella Seymour, and her brothers Jesse Hopkins and Thomas Hopkins. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Raspberry Road for the care and comfort they provided to our Mom. Friends may visit St. Aiden’s Church on Friday 2 - 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM. Funeral will take place on Saturday, January 13 at 3 PM at St Aiden’s church in Bellburns.
