Rose Bradbury (nee Norris)

Rose Bradbury passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on January 6, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents Mildred Brown (nee Morgan) and Francis Norris, her step-father James Brown, step-sister Sarah Piercey, step-brother George Brown, sister-in-law Fanny Mugford and special nephew John Bradbury. Leaving to mourn her devoted and loving husband Howard Bradbury of Clarke's Beach, brother David (Gail) Norris and family, Harold (Sarah, d.) Piercey and family of St. John's, Delilah (Garland, d.) Goldsworthy and family of Ontario, and Clarence (Linda) Bradbury and family of Guelph, Ontario, Dorothy Anthony and Claude Piercey, as well as other relatives and friends in Trinity East, Gander, St. John's and Toronto. Rose was born on Coward's Island, Bonavista Bay and grew up in Trinity East, Trinity Bay. She moved to Toronto where she met and married her husband Howard. They lived there until their retirement then returned to Newfoundland and settled in Clarke's Beach. She faithfully supported the Salvation Army Church in Clarke's Beach then Bay Roberts. She enjoyed relaxing hours assembling puzzles, shopping, visiting friends and neighbours, volunteering for her Church and doting on her niece and nephew Kim and Frank Norris. She enjoyed listening to the music on VOWR 800 Country, Friday evenings. The music was selected and aired by Country George and Miss Daphne. She loved their Trivia Quiz and often phoned in with the correct answer! At Rose's request, cremation has taken place and there is no visitation. Funeral services will be held at the Salvation Army Church, Bay Roberts on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2 pm. Inurnment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Clarke's Beach. A tea will be held at the Church following the Inurnment. Flowers gratefully accepted at the church prior to service. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, or to Radio Station VOWR. Thank you to Slade's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts for assisting with the arrangements.
