Peacefully with his family by his side at the Palace LTC; Donald Garrett 'Garry' (MacIsaac/Scoolmaster) MacDonald of Alexandria on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of 61 years to Theresa (née Taillon). Predeceased by his parents, John Roderick (MacIsaac) MacDonald and Katherine (Schoolmaster) MacDonell of Loch Garry. Survived by his 3 sisters; Christena Férrè (Norbert) of Cornwall, Rose MacDonald of Alexandria and Helen Roberts (Bill) of Alberta. Proud father of Joanne Lewis (Darrell), Glen (Susie), Catherine Gibaldi, Joyce MacDonald (Sandy MacLeod), Donald, Roseanne Hansen (Tony) and John Alexander 'Sandy' (Nina).He will be sadly missed by his 13 grandchildren; Cindy, Melissa Felicia, Jennifer, Meaghan, Michael, Christopher, Shaun, Krystal, Marco, Nicholas, Sam and Thomas and 4 great-grandsons; Josh, Dean, Asher and Devin. As per the family's wishes there will be no visitation A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:30 am. Spring Interment of cremated remains in St. Finnan’s Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
