Guy Allen Hunter July 30, 1933 – January 14, 2018 In loving memory of Guy Allen Hunter who passed away January 14, 2018 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, surrounded by his family. Beloved wife of Leirma Hunter. Loving father of Johanna Horne (Terry Tilleczek), Richard Hunter (Kim) predeceased by their mother Lea Punkkinen (Hard) (Hunter), Sara Hunter (David Girdharry) and Nathan Hunter (Emily Monaco). Cherished grandfather of Rebecca (Tyler Donnelly), Megan, Alex, Ryan, Nodin, Hunter, Niska and Indira. Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Doris Martyn (Hunter) (nee Mosher) siblings Patricia (Lawrence Brown)(Len Kincaid), Judy Murphy (Allison) (David Roach), and Keith Hunter (Carol). Guy was born in Poplar Grove, Nova Scotia where he grew up living in the Old Stone House in a close and loving community. Guy moved to Ontario to seek his fortune as a young man, settling in Sudbury, Ontario where he worked as a mine foreman at INCO, retiring after 35 years. Guy kept in touch with his Nova Scotia roots and his happiest times were those spent with family, visiting Poplar Grove and enjoying hunting and fishing on McGregor Bay, Birch Island and Manitoulin Island. Guy’s family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the physicians and nurses of the Shared Care Team, the Home and Community Care services of the North East LHIN and the expert and caring staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice. At Guy's request there will be no immediate funeral or visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
