Nancy Anne MacAdam

At the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on January 21, 2018, Nancy Anne MacAdam (nee Doiron), aged 64, died peacefully with her husband Kevin by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy will be deeply missed and forever loved by Kevin, her husband of 40 years; and daughters, Karen (Josh Samples) and Ashley (Lucas Gallant). Granddaughters, Callie and Darrah will greatly miss their special Nina. Nancy is also survived by her mother, Mona Doiron; and siblings, Mikey (Ann), Aletha (Jerry Coady), Anne Marie (Clifford Lee), Freddy (Joanne), and Edwin (Donna). Also to mourn her loss are parents in-law, Evelyn and Alex MacAdam of Antigonish N.S.; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey (Jamie Strathdee), David (Fern), Donna (Paul “Smokey” Richardson), Nancy (Robbie Dunphy), Greg (Valerie), Patsy (Mike MacIsaac), Brenda (Bernie Chisholm) and Gary (Lena). Numerous nieces and nephews will remember Nancy with great fondness and sadness for years to come. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Doiron; and sister, Andrea Gallant. Nancy was a wonderful teacher and had a very positive influence on many students throughout her career. The family wishes to give heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre for taking such wonderful care of our beloved Nancy. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The CWL will hold a prayer service prior to the evening visitation at 6:45 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, donations in Nancy’s memory to the IWK would be appreciated.
