Madeline Doyle

Born: November 23rd, 1932

Passed on: January 19th, 2018

In Loving Memory of Madeline Doyle, November 23, 1932 - January 19, 2018; 85 years young. Madeline Doyle passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's just a short distance from her beloved home in Avondale where she lived happily for many years. Madeline was the youngest and the last remaining of 10 Doyle siblings. She is now reunited with her parents Christopher and Mary, and her sisters and brothers Edward, Kay, Pat, James, Mary, Betty, Chris, Greg and George. Madeline will be missed by her remaining relatives including cousins and 20 nieces and nephews. Her love of life especially the joy she found in singing, dancing, reciting poetry and religious work, her charitable acts and her great sense of humour will be fondly remembered. Madeline also loved acting in local plays when she worked in St. John's. Madeline was an active member of the Avondale Community especially involved in Church affairs and committees at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church. Madeline loved to sing in the choir or support church initiatives. Madeline walked everywhere regardless of the weather and this was a common sight in Avondale. I know that the people of the community of Avondale and neighboring communities will miss seeing Madeline briskly walking on the roads. The family wants to thank the many folks who took care of Madeline offering a ride and help where needed. A very special thank you to all the Staff at St. Patrick's Mercy Home. You all made Madeline's last days, comfortable, dignified, and peaceful. Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Friday, January 26th, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Avondale on Saturday, January 27th, 2018, at 10 am. After Madeline's Farewell Mass there will be a Tea to follow at Avondale Railway Station Museum. In lieu of flowers, please make a memory donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, (accepted during the visitation). "An Irish Prayer"
May God give you... For every storm, a rainbow, For every tear, a smile, For every care, a promise, And a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, A faithful friend to share, For every sign, a sweet song, And an answer for each prayer.
