It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marie Olivia Pottle announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 at the WMRH in her 76th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Sheila (Howard), Shawn (Roberta), Beverly (Jim), Byron (Terri-Lynn), Sheldon (Katie), Bobby (Sheri); grandchildren: Cory (Melanie), Christa (Kenneth), Angela (Jamie), Ashley (Brad), Nicole (Matt), Joanna, Evan (Mandy), Emma (Steve), Dylan, Brandon (Alexandra), Chloe (Kyle), Noah, Kaylee, and Nathaniel; great-grandchildren: Adam, Luke, Kendall, Ava, Landen, Carly, Jacob, Jenny, and Brennan; brothers: Ronald Sheppard (Geraldine), and Paul Sheppard (Pauline); sister Elizabeth Pennell (Ralph); and also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Maxwell Pottle; parents: Georgina and Stephen Sheppard; grandson Adam Connolly; sister Sylvia Gilbert; brothers-in-law: Raymond Gilbert, William Snow, and Sherman Lacey; sister-in-law Jean Newman; and son-in-law Gary Park. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, January 26, 2018 from the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2pm with Rev. David Taylor officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or memorial donations can be made to the St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund and/or the YH/LH Volunteer Fire Department. We the family of the late Marie Pottle would like to express sincere thanks to all our friends and family for their love and support. The thoughtfulness you have shown has helped ease our sorrow and will always be remembered. We would also like to send a special thank-you to Marie’s three special care workers: Bonnie Sheppard, Emily Jesso, and Karen Sheppard.
