It is with deepest sadness that I announce the passing of Elizabeth Marguerite Noftle, age 64, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Known to family and friends as Marguerite, she was the kindest and most caring mother. She will be remembered for her genuine, beautiful smile and her willingness to always help others.
For 28 years, Marguerite worked at Jaspers Restaurant in Sydney River, enjoying every moment until they closed their doors one final time.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachael (Gary Bishop); nieces, Sherry Noftle (John Clarke) and Gina (David) Hyde; nephew, Harris Noftle (Rhonda Nichols); grandnieces, Chloe, Danielle, Madisin and Brittany; grandnephew, Nolan; sisters-in-law, Edith Noftle (George) and Vilda Noftle; extended family, Tanya Blanchard (Matthew), Ava, Andrew, Tammy (Raymond), Laurissa, Nathaniel, Lonnie Froude (Gail), Shawn Froude, Matthew and Marcus, as well as many other close family and friends.
Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Mildred (Follette) Noftle; sister, Georgina “Georgie” Froude; brother-in-law, Harvey Froude; brothers, Edwin and Harris Noftle; aunts, Sadie Moore and Allie Follette.
A celebration of Marguerite’s life will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ron Coole officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Heart & Stoke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Lung Association or the Diabetes Association.
