Frederick Hugh  Stilwell, CD, CIM

Frederick Hugh Stilwell of Cornwall, P.E.I., passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, aged 71. Fred was the loving husband to Joan Stilwell (nee Carson). He was the dear father of Kim Weeks (Craig) of Hunter River, and Roger Stilwell (Eveline Caissie) of Moncton, N.B.; grandfather to Evan Weeks, Samantha Stilwell; and step-grandfather to Sarah Weeks. He is also survived by his sister, Carol MacKay; brother, Doug both of Saint John, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and H. Marion (Neal) Stilwell; parents-in-law, Leslie and Patricia (Doyle) Carson; brothers-in-law, Allan MacKay, Paul and Kenneth Carson and Rene Doucette; and sisters-in-law, Cheryl Stilwell and Linda Doucette. Fred was a dedicated civil servant for 37 years with Department of Transport/Canadian Coast Guard/Fisheries and Oceans; over 41 years as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces training air, army and sea cadets; over 15 years as a volunteer with CRA; active volunteer with the Cornwall Citizens on Patrol; and a member of the Kingston Legion, Branch 30 in New Haven. He was the recipient of the Canadian Forces Declaration (CDII) and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Resting at Central Queens United Church, Hunter River for funeral service on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. There will be no visitation by personal request. Interment in Central Queens United Church Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, donations in Fred’s memory to Central Queens United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
