McLAURIN, Mildred Evelyn Allen “Midge”. It is with heavy hearts we said our earthy goodbye to our mom on January 27, 2018 at Nakile Home for Special Care. Born in Quebec, May 29, 1930 she was the chosen daughter to the late Clarence and Winnifred (Weir) Allen. Midge was a nurse and caregiver for many years, eventually living out her dream to own her own business, Allen’s Homecare. She was a lover of dogs especially Missy, her black poodle. Missy never left her side. She loved her many winters spent in Florida. We have many good memories of her time at the Tusket Villa, Roseway Manor and Nakile Home for Special Care. We would like to thank all of these places for taking care of our mother. Midge leaves behind her daughters, Vicki (Chester Walker) d’Eon, Bridgewater; Brenda (Ken) Comeau, Deerfield; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters whom she was blessed to meet later in life, Jean Giles and Thomasina Cameron-Jewell. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband James McLaurin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be a graveside service in the spring at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal, NS. Memorial donations in memory may be made to the S.H.A.I.D Tree (Animal Shelter), 100 High Street, Suite 138, Bridgewater, NS. B4V 1V9. On-line condolences may be sent to: Sweenysfh@eastlink.ca or you may sign the guestbook on-line at: www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
“May you rest in peace beautiful Mother until we meet again”
