James Alfred Treige, age 56, of Glace Bay passed away on January 31, 2018 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay he was the son of Daniel and Margie (Currie) Treige.
James worked as a class 1 driver in the oil industry in Alberta for the past 6 years. He was employed at Bluewave Energy, ERS Inc., Pro-Vac Oilfield Solutions and finally Cougar Fuels in Fort Hills. Previous to his work in Alberta, James worked in retail in Glace Bay for 31 years where he met a lot of friends. James enjoyed riding his motorcycle and participating in the Sydney Toy Run for sick children. James loved to watch his son Connor perform in his band and never missed a performance.
James is survived by his wife, Kim (Gracie) Treige of 29 years; son, Connor (Vanna); brothers, Allie (Lucille), Brian (Lois), Lennie (Nancy), John (Allyson), David (late Martha) and Jerry (Tracey); sisters, Margaret Ann, Jean (late Johnny Comer) and Donna (Stephen); his mother, Margie; and his dog, Cruze. Also surviving are his many nieces and nephews.
James is predeceased by his father, Daniel; father-in-law, Alfred; brother-in-law, Terrance; and sister-in-law, Linda.
There will be no visitation. In honouring James’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A funeral service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre in Sydney.
At this time the family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Cancer Centre and Palliative Care in Sydney; Gary and Latisse White for all of their help, and to Blaine Timmons who James thought of as a brother, and Donna Timmons who he loved very much.
