On January 31st, 2018, our Lord welcomed Lorraine Dora Hiscock (Vey), aged 85 years, into His loving arms. Surrounded by her family, Lorraine passed peacefully away at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, St. John's. Born December 10th, 1932, she is predeceased by her husband of fifty four years, Harold James (Jim) Hiscock of Heart's Delight, Trinity Bay; parents Wilson and Henrietta (Parsons) Vey of Long Beach, Trinity Bay; siblings William Vey, Margaret Martin and Jean Terry. Left with wonderful memories are her children Robert (Donna) Hiscock, Jeannie (Alan) Thygesen and Randy (Jackie) Hiscock; grandchildren Alison (Dana) Phillips, Heather (Robin) Burke and Eric (Courtney) Hiscock; great-grandchildren Ethan, Aaron, John and Caroline; brothers Ron, Cyril, Frank (Margaret) and Eldon (Alice); sister Audrey; as well as her numerous extended family and friends. Lorraine was active in her community and a strong member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Heart's Delight. Her passions in life were caring for her family, camping with friends, reading, travelling and entertaining her grandchildren. Resting at the Church of the Epiphany, Heart's Delight, Trinity Bay with visitation on Friday, February 2, 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A service of celebration and thanksgiving for her life will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 2 pm from the Church of the Epiphany, Heart's Delight, Trinity Bay. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Heart's Delight. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Church of the Epiphany, Heart's Delight, Trinity Bay.
