Patrick William ‘Bill’ MacNeil

With heavy hearts we regret to announce the passing of Patrick William ‘Bill’ MacNeil on February 1, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born in Sydney on March 10, 1933. He was employed with MacDougall’s Transfers for 40 years, and travelled many miles accident free.
Bill will lovingly be remembered as a true gentleman kind and caring with a wonderful sense of humour. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eileen (McKenna); daughters, Charlene (Kevin Tighe) and Darlene (Gary MacNeil); grandchildren, Melanie Tighe (Paul Forget), Kevin Tighe, and Shaun, Erin and Leah MacNeil; great grandchildren, Ryley, and Hunter Tighe Forget, as well as sisters, Florence Stuart and Enid Gosse
He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Myrtle (Lafford) MacNeil; sister, Kay Pick, and brothers, Currie and Bobby MacNeil.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes there will be no visitation. A celebration of Bill’s Life was held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the S.W. Chant Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
