Hannah Margaret ‘Peggy’ Ross

Hannah Margaret ‘Peggy’ Ross

Passed on: February 4th, 2018

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our angel we call “Mom”. In the time that God gave her to us we gave all we could give and loved all we could love, during her long illness, we walked by her side during this entire journey. Mom, Peggy Ross, passed away at home on Sunday February 4, 2018, with her loving family by her side.
Mom loved and enjoyed the simple things in life and believed if we all could see the world through the eyes of a little child what a wonderful world this would be. She cherished her family and never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lady of great faith and instilled in her children that life is simple if you just love one another. She was a faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Guild.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Gar, of 70 years; son, Allie (Debbie), Halifax; daughters, Marilyn MacKenzie, Halifax, Myrna and Linda, at home; granddaughter, Allison (Pat); grandsons Jonathan (Lynda) and Andrew (Melanie); great granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Grace and Emilie, and great grandson, Leo; brothers, John (Doreen) Marsh and Alf (Gert) Marsh, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Winnifred Marsh; brothers, Clarence, Ross, Frankie, Clem, Bill and Donnie; son-in-law, Lloyd MacKenzie, and maternal grandparents, John (Margaret) Youden.
We extend a very special thank you to “Peggys angels”, the VON and Home Care support for their special care and love through the past 10 years. Also to Dr. Murdock Smith and Dr. John Rogers for always being there.
Visitation will be held Tuesday February 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
