Phillip “Phil” Joseph
April 29, 1953 – February 7, 2018

Passed away after a short illness at the James Paton Memorial Hospital two months shy of his 65th birthday, Phillip “Phil” Dooley. Phil leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted mother Mary E., his father Gerald at Lakeside Homes; brothers Barry of Port Hardy, BC., Donald of St. John’s, NL., Danny & Ron both of Gander, NL.; sister Ruby (Eric) of Enfield, NS., also a large extended circle of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. Phil was devoted to his mom and dad. He visited his father every day at Lakeside Homes without fail. Phil, a fixture around this airport town will be known and remembered for riding on his Honda Goldwing, Phil was a regular at many businesses and was a common sight around town with his brother Danny. He attended many community events and often did odd jobs like mowing lawns, shoveling snow and had a flair for fixing things, especially electronics for many residents of Gander. Phil was a huge animal lover and his love for the furry friends will always be remembered. He knew a large number of people and his loss is being felt throughout the community. Family received friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue on Friday February 9, 2018. A celebration of Phil’s life was held on Saturday February 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to and accepted by the Dooley family. Phil was a big man, with a big heart who lived his life the way he wanted and doing the things he loved most. Taken from us too soon, you will be forever missed. Rest in peace Phil, you will never be forgotten.
