With broken hearts we, the family of Carl Matthew Bonar, age 80, regret to announce his passing on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on October 11, 1937, Carl was the son of the late Daniel and Annie (Mackin) Bonar of Alder Point.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie (Jessome) Bonar; children, Leo (Rose), Daniel (Denise), Kim, and Tracy (John). Also left to mourn are his grandchildren, Leo, Grant, Matthew, and Calleigh; great-grandchildren, Logan, Brayden, Owen, Tysen and Kacey; sisters, Rose (Sis), Margaret, Molly and Linda, and his brother, Larry.
Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his brothers, Tom, Daniel (Bud), and David; grandchildren, James and Carrington; son-in-law, William Marks; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bonar.

Visitation for Carl Bonar will be held today (Tuesday) February 27, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines.
A celebration of his life will take place Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating.
