Anastasia "Ann" Black

BLACK, Anastasia “Ann” – 70, Marshville, Pictou County, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after suffering a heart attack. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Josephine (MacIsaac) Ryan. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Truro. Family meant everything to Ann; she absolutely loved spending time with her family and she will be lovingly remembered by countless others who she cared for over the years, including her own siblings and family and neighbourhood children wherever she lived. When her brother Michael became sick and wanted to return home to Nova Scotia, Ann generously offered for him to come and live with her and her husband and she cared for him until he passed away. She was always there to help, whether it was cleaning a cut or scrape, offering words of wisdom or simply being the best friend she could be; she loved people and her passion was helping others. Ann is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Lee (Heather) Black, Belmont; Ronda (Brian) Burchartz, Oshawa, Ontario; Michael Black, Onslow; grandchildren, Danica (Andrew) Earnshaw, Tabitha Black (James Van Der Groef), Cullen Burchartz, Kyle Black, Nina Burchartz, Connor Black, Natasha White, Ella Burchartz, Mia Burchartz; siblings, Clem (Sandra) Ryan, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Mary (Aurel) Robichaud, Moncton, New Brunswick; Ray (Leonard) Dennis, Truro; Johnny (Maureen) Ryan, Ontario; Lawrence (Brenda) Ryan, Alberta; Evelyn (Ed) Conwath, Truro Heights; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Michael Ryan, Ralph Ryan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Reception will follow in Campbell Hall. Interment at a later date in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Ann’s memory to Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
