Vivian Lorrain (Osborne) Atkinson
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Vivian Atkinson, announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Northside Community Guest Home, North Sydney surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 7, 1936 in Sydney, Vivian was the daughter of the late Dave and Hannah (Sharples) Osborne. Vivian is survived by her children, Raymond, John (Mary Ann), Lynn, Martin (Wendy) and Brenda (John) MacTaggart; grandchildren, Natalie, Melissa, Joshua, Ryan, Samantha, Jeffery, Natasha, Jessica and Owen; great grandchildren, Noah, Matthew, Faitlyn, Jackson, Isabella, Hadleigh and siblings, Dave (Martha), Jack (Valerie), Martin ‘Boots’ (Marg), Tom (Debbie) and Mary Lou Grant. Besides her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Raymond ‘Jumbo’ Atkinson; son, Bruce and sisters, Lynn and Hannah ‘Ducky’. Vivian was a quiet woman who loved her home. She loved to read, especially romance novels, and could often be found in front of the TV watching the game shows with Wheel of Fortune as her favorite. Vivian will be remembered by her family for being dependable and easy going. Memorial service to celebrate the life of Vivian Lorrain Atkinson will be held in the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1-2 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Committal will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home with light refreshments to follow in the reception area. Donations in Vivian's memory may be made to the Northside Community Guest Home, North Sydney or charity of one’s choice.
