Peggy Hoddinott

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Hoddinott (Anderson) on March 6, 2018 in Gander, NL. She graced and embraced this world for 81 years. Peggy loved life and lived everyday, including her last, with a kind heart, open arms, a hearty laugh and an inviting smile. She will be fondly missed and celebrated from all of those she has met and the lives she touched. Peggy is survived by Jim, her loving husband and inseparable life companion of 54 years. Her children: Steve (Marilyn), Whitby Ontario. Geoff, Foxtrap, NL and Karen (Blake McGee) Ft. St. John, BC. Grandchildren: Alexandra, Victoria, Sam, Jack, Neil, Miles and Danika. Sister: Pat (Stan Van Norden) Kelowna BC. Neices: Debbie (Tim Creaghan), Heather (Wayne Bryant), Cathy (Konrad Pimiskern) Grand Nieces and nephews: Elizabeth, Sydney, Samson and Jared. Along with family are the multitudes of friends from St. John’s, where she grew up and Gander where she raised her family. Peggy met her calling as a registered nurse where she spent many years and absolutely loved the opportunity in delivering babies and training students. She fondly reminisced about the children she associated with and mentored as a parent sponsor for Allied Youth and as a hockey mom. During her evenings she was found progressively rockin the tights as a 1970’s, Jane Fonda, instructing “Keep Fit” women's fitness classes in Gander. To cap off her fulfilling family life and career was the 25 years that Peggy and Jim followed their dreams of exploration throughout Canada and the United States spreading their love of Newfoundland and experiencing the trails and tales like travelers before them. A life well lived and to be celebrated. Resting at Stacy’s funeral home, Gander with a life celebration visitation on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 2-4 pm. Please visit www.staceysfuneralhome.ca to leave a message of condolence for the family. Arrangements entrusted to Stacey's Funeral Home Gander/Carmanville.
