Passed peacefully away on March 29, 2018 after a brief illness, Albert Franklin Brake of Cormack, NL in his 75th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Lori of 21 years. His daughter Tena Reid, his son Geoff (Carolanne) Brake, and stepson Dylan Penner. He will be missed by his three treasured grandchildren Dylan Reid, Brady Reid, and Chloe Brake. He will be missed by his furry little buddy Rocky, who he adored. Also leaving to mourn his sisters Helen Smith, Joyce Bester, Avril Brake and Ina Osmond; brothers Murdock (Norma) Brake, Rick (Dot) Brake, and Derek (Jackie) Brake. Brothers-in-law Isaac (Carol) Anderson, Clifford (Judy) Anderson, Terry (Julie) Anderson, and mother-in-law Mary Anderson Albert and also he leaves behind many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Albert spent many years in the construction industry, and was well known as a fine craftsman. His workmanship can be seen in many projects across the province. Predeceased by his parents Murdock and Isabelle Brake, his brothers-in-law Darius (Dude) Randell, George Brake, Mike Bester, Lou Smith and Chris Anderson. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and the Health Sciences Complex in St. John’s for their kindness and compassion during Albert’s illness. At Albert’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2pm from Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road where a funeral service will take place at 3pm from Country Haven Chapel with Major Frank Johnson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Albert’s memory.
