Raymond Joseph "Ray" Brown

(Veteran of WWII 1939-1945)
The death occurred peacefully with family around him at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, March 29th, 2018 of Ray Brown of Summerside and formerly of Richmond, P.E.I., aged 96 years. Ray was born in Bayside, P.E.I. to his late parents Alphonse and Bernetta (nee McIvor) Brown. Beloved husband of 70 years to Eileen (nee Praught) Brown and dear father of Raymond (Bernie), Liz (Reg) MacDonald, Tom (Kelly), Peter (Muriel), Andy, Philip (Carol), Matthew (Treva), Bart (Cindy), Paul (Darla) and Peggie (David) Corney.Survived by his sisters Iris Nicholson, Joan Fitzgerald, and Betty Callaghan. Much loved Grampie of 50 grandchildren and 43 great-granchildren. Also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ray was predeceased by his in-laws Clem and Betty Praught, his brothers and sisters; Victor, Jim, Desmond, Ted, Velma, Mary and Lillian and 17 brothers and sisters-in-law. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, April 3rd, then to Immaculate Conception Church, Wellington for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ray’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul or Holy Family Ministries would be greatly appreciated.
