Passed on: April 1st, 2018

We, the family, regret to announce the passing of our sister, Anna "Josephine" MacIntyre, a resident of MacGillivary Guest Home, on April 1, 2018.
Josephine was born in French Road on June 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Joe Hugh and Margaret (MacKinnon) MacIntyre and moved to Grand Mira South at an early age. She later moved to Toronto where she worked at Twentieth Century Fox. She returned to Cape Breton and entered The Sisters of St. Martha's in Bethany, Antigonish where she served for 25 years. She studied in Lowell, Mass, USA and later studied in Lethbridge, Alberta where she received her RN. She worked in Pastoral Care at St. Rita’s Hospital in Sydney as well as many other postings. Josephine later started her own home care facility, which she operated until her retirement. Josephine was a friendly, loving and caring person. Loved greatly for her jovial wit. She loved Celtic music and particularly a good sing song at which she excelled.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn (Hugh) MacPherson, Gardiner Mines, and brothers, Michael (Belinda), Grand Mira South, and Joe (Theresa) Howie Center, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Ida, Mary (Lawrence) Day, Kay (Charles) Novak, Rita, and brothers, Danny (Hazel), Gussie (Lorraine), Peter (Kay), Paddy (Mary), John and Duncan, both in infancy and by a niece and several nephews.
