Velma passed away peacefully at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Monday, April 2, 2018, age 86 years. Dear mother of David Carmody (Diane), Debra Kelly (Glen), Jim Carmody (Val), Lloyd Carmody, Brian Carmody (Heather) and Andy Carmody (Wendy). Special Grammy to Danny, Lisa, Laura, Tim, Monica, Marilyn, Jeff, Tara-Lynn, Jillian, April, Ashley, Tyler, Serena, Robyn and Thomas. Great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are her in-laws Mike and Irene Carmody, Ian and Sheila MacDonald, Dunstan and Heather MacDonald and Sr. Anne MacDonald CND. Velma was predeceased by husbands Earl “Bud” Carmody and Eric MacDonald, parents Ernie and Gladys (Scharf) Gibson and sisters Edna, Arlene and Marilyn. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Central United Church Cemetery, Dunstaffnage.
