Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, Jean Burke of Victoria, age 85 years. Predeceased by daughter Goldie, son-in-law Michael; parents: Edward and Winnifred Parsons, sisters: Clara (Ches), Daisy, and Mildred, brother-in-law Moses. Leaving to mourn, husband Harold; two daughters: Brenda Merrigan, Victoria and Beverley (Elywin) Burke, Clarenville; one son Tony (Karen), Cold Brook; eight grandchildren: Michael (Jullie), Jason (Laura), Samantha (Michael), Tony, Tiffany, Charles (Carly), Jordan (Natasha), and Jessica; three great-grandchildren: Jason 'JJ', Dale, and Oliver; five brothers: Albert Parsons, Etobicoke, ON, Stan (Marjorie) Parsons, Foxtrap, Wilfred (Eleanor) Parsons, Victoria, Warren (Amelia) Parsons, Bryant’s Cove, and Llewellyn (Emiline) Parsons, Miramichi, NB; three sisters: Madge (Les) Mercer, Bryant’s Cove, Agnes (Keith) Howard, Brampton, ON, and Linda (Stan) Mercer, South River; brother-in-law William Bishop, Long Pond; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday, 7-9 p.m., and Friday, 2-5 p.m., 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear.
