Jean Zayas

Born: December 2nd, 1937

Passed on: May 2nd, 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Zayas on May 2, 2011 after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer at the age of 73 years. Jean's life is best summed up in her own words: she wrote this song not long after losing her brothers in an accident. "Collector of Dreams" Dreams were designed by the maker, Some may end in despair, Happiness comes and happiness goes, It's good to know He's always there. I'm a collector of dreams, I've gathered them all through the years, Some have turned into memories, Others have yet to appear. Some are collectors of fortunes, antiques, silver and gold, I've always been a collector of dreams, They can neither be bought, nor be sold. Gone are the days of my childhood, Behind are the days of my youth, memories and dreams are still with me, a reminder of all good and true. Friendships are lost by the wayside, To memories we cling to and yearn, The blessings that hold on forever, are all of the lessons we've learned. Dreams are like gardens of roses, They bud, they blossom and fall, and we are left with fond memories, The thorns we should never recall.
