It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Ronald George Battiste announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on April 7th, 2018 at the age of 82 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Ronald was the son of the late Thomas and Jane Battiste (nee Lomond). He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Mary and Peter Mushrow; brothers Lewis, Joe, Raymond; sister Mabel; brothers-in-law Willie Seaward, Bob (Robert) Peddle; and sister-in-law Mary Mushrow. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife Maxine of 61 years; daughter Faith (David) Organ; son Ronald E (Joanne) Battiste both of Port aux Basques, NL; grandchildren Christopher (Betsy) Organ of Red Deer, AB, Matthew Organ of Lloydminster, AB, Kelsie (Jacques Bottjer) Battiste of Basilton, UK, Nicholas Battiste of Port aux Basques, NL; great-grandson Marcus Organ of Red Deer, AB; brothers and sisters Kevin (Donna) Battiste, Gerard (Carolann) Battiste, Jerome (Pauline) Battiste, Nina Peddle, Audrey Seaward all of Port aux Basques, NL and Marlene (Tom) Brake of South Branch, NL; brothers and sisters-in-law Pete (Eliza) Mushrow of British Columbia, Lloyd Mushrow, Gary (Nancy) Mushrow, Daniel (Emma) Mushrow all of Port aux Basques, NL, Wayne (Joan) Mushrow of Halifax, NS, Jean Gabriel of McDougalls, NL, Marie Battiste and Mary Battiste both of Port aux Basques, NL plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation was held on Monday, April 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and continued on Tuesday, April 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 11th at 2 pm from St. James Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey with internment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations can be made to the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Foundation.
