It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Calvin Martin Joseph Cormier announces his passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, NL on April 5th, 2018 at the age of 62 years. Born in Upper Ferry, NL, Calvin was the son of the late Leo and Margaret Cormier (nee MacArthur). He was also predeceased by his father-in-law Cyril Gale and nephew Dylan Gould. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife Patricia (nee Gale) of 43 years; sons Dean (Stephanie) Cormier of St. John's, NL, Darren (Virginia) Cormier of Mount Pearl, NL; grandsons Jaxon, Blake; brothers and sisters Gerard (Melissa) Cormier of Codroy Valley, NL, Karen (Brian) Farrell of Alberta, Danny (Maureen) Cormier, Patricia (Stan) O'Farrell all of Codroy Valley, NL, Loretta (Ernie) Johnson of Conception Bay South, NL, Robert (Sharron) Cormier of Goose Bay, NL, Bernard (Brenda) Cormier of Corner Brook, NL, Gordon Cormier (Michelle O'Quinn) of Codroy Valley, NL; mother-in-law Alma Gale of Codroy Valley, NL; brothers-in-law Francis Gale (Donna MacIsaac) of Dryden, Ont, Anthony (Blanche) Gale, Eugene Gale all of Codroy Valley, NL, Agnes (Jeff) Gould of Port au Choix, NL, Keith (Nicole) Gale of Dryden, Ont, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Calvin's dearly loved his family especially his two grandson's which were the highlight of his life, proudly showing pictures of them to anyone he came in contact with. He also loved going to work everyday being an independent businessman for forty plus years including collecting of all furs for the NAFA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, his pleasures were music, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, loved cooking and was a very strong Toronto Maple Leafs fan. In keeping with Calvin's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 10th from 7-9 pm at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry, NL where the Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, April 11th at 11 am officiated by Father Lee Lainey. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations can be made in Calvin's memory to the Ronald McDonald House in St. John's, NL.
