John Joseph Barrington, of Sydney, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, in the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, Joseph was the son of the late Frank and Vickie (Pierrynowski) Barrington.
He was the founder of J.J. Barrington Wheel Alignment and Autobody Ltd.
Surviving are his sons, Kelly (David) and Kirby (Michelle); grandson, Kyle; sisters, Frances MacLeod, Judy (Vince) Donovan and Susan (George) Griffin; brothers, Bob (Lois), Mike (Marie), Frank (Sandra), Doug (Bernadette), Gerald (Sheila) and Bruce (Joy).
Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Franklyn and son, Keith.
Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Wednesday, April 18 from 10-11 a.m., followed by funeral mass at 11 a.m., Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the An Cala Unit or the Cancer Center at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
