Gerald is survived by his wife Susannah (McGrath) of 57 years and is the much loved father and father-in-law of Gerry & Sandra Clarke, Sharon & John White, Brian & Violet Clarke, and Brenda & Stephen Shishis. He will be lovingly remembered as a family man with a great sense of humour who always loved to tell a joke, his appreciation for music and entertaining others, his fascination with the weather and most of all, his unwavering love and dedication to his family.
A special thank you to the family and friends that went out of their way to offer their support and assistance to both Gerald & Susannah in the last 6 months. We are also eternally grateful to Dr. Laurie and the staff at the Dr. Walter Templeman Health Care Centre for the compassionate care they extended to our family. Family and friends will be received at Pendergast Funeral Home on Wednesday April 18th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Parish on Thursday April 19th at 2 pm. If wished, memorial donations can be made to the Eastern Health Care Foundation, directed to the Dr. Walter Templeman Health Care Centre, Bell Island.

May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
