Shirley Peckham

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Shirley Peckham, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on April 19, 2018. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Bobby Hart.
Shirley was a stay at home mom who cared for her three beautiful daughters. She lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking, camping and taking long walks with her daughters. She loved her TV shows and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her three daughters, Joanne, Vancouver, Shannon, New Waterford and Cheryl, Sydney, with whom she resided. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Alyssa, Madden and Noah; her best friend, William Power; sister, Elizabeth; brothers, Thomas, Douglas and Joey, and her loving dogs, Lola and Buddy.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by sisters, Theresa and Marie, and brothers, Kevin and Wally.
Visitation will be held Tuesday April 24, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m., all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Cremation will follow.
Family flower only. Memorial donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to cancer research.
