Helen McCulloch

McCulloch, Helen Marie, passed away peacefully on April 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Helen was born in New Glasgow on May 27, 1938. She was the youngest daughter of the late William and Anna May(MacFarlane) MacIsaac.
Helen had a big personality and lived a large life. She was a great listener and loved socializing with friends and family. She worked at AC McCulloch clothing store where she met her future husband Hal McCulloch with whom she recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. When she first saw him she said ”That’s the man I’m going to marry”. Helen was born to a large and very close family of 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Although she was the youngest, she was the centre of most family activities and she could always be seen with her sister Benita who she shared a very special relationship through her life. Helen adored her mother and was so proud that her father, Bill MacIsaac was a fiddler and member of the Royal Swingsters who played at many events in the early years. She loved attending the many musical events throughout the county during the summer months usually with her sister Benita. She could also be seen most mornings having breakfast at her favourite hangout McDonald’s along with the gang. After spending time as a homemaker, Helen returned to school where she became a successful real estate agent for Century 21. Later she returned to NSCC where she learned hairdressing, having worked a few years doing that as well. Helen loved Pictou County and never had any desire to live anywhere else. She was a member of the Trinity United Church & joined the Women Alike after surviving breast cancer.
Helen is survived by son Cecil (Lori), daughters Angela (Tommy) and Patti. She is also survived by grandchildren Sylvia, TJ, Kyler, Paige, Brady and Carter, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, Hal along with son Hal Jr. who never left her thoughts. She was also predeceased by her son in law Greg White and siblings Ted, Tina, Roddy, Johnena, Colleen, Frank, Lloyd, and Benita.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held 2pm Tuesday at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook and Rev. Donna Tourneur presiding.
Following the service, everyone is welcomed to meet with the family in the reception room.
A private family burial will take place in the Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
