BOUDREAU, Bernard Frederick – age 73, Belleville, Yarmouth Co., passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre (Infirmary Site), Halifax. Born July 6, 1944 in Woodvale, Digby Co., he was a son of the late Joseph Boudreau and Alma (Melanson) Surette. Bernard served with the Royal Canadian Army from 1962-1965, having served as a peacekeeper in Germany. After his service, he worked as a carpenter, building steel bridges and also as a cook. He was an active member and current President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 155 Wedgeport. In his spare time, Bernard enjoyed vegetable gardening, crossword puzzles and reading. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Myrtle A. (Hubbard) Boudreau, as well as by their children, Allan Hubbard, Chegoggin; Sharon (Scott) Moulaison, Yarmouth; Bernie Boudreau, Belleville; David (Sacha) Boudreau, Stephenville, NF; Denise Boudreau (Lorne Graham), Belleville; Karen Boudreau (Joel Pothier), Belleville; he cherished his ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are siblings, Ronnie Boudreau, Springhaven; Midge (Joe) LeBlanc, South Belleville; Joey Boudreau and Gerry Boudreau, both of Yarmouth; Anne (Mike) Morris, Springhaven; Kevin Surette (Sandra d’Entremont), West Pubnico. In accordance with Bernard’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there was no visitation or formal funeral service. A Celebration of Life was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Wedgeport. Family flowers only.
