On Saturday, April 28th, 2018, surrounded by his wife and two daughters, Eric Kendell passed away peacefully at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife Irene (nee Read) of 62 years; daughters Diane (Walter) Devoe of Irishtown, NL, Cathy (Roy) Groves of Carbonear, NL; three loving grandchildren Cory Devoe of Grand Prairie, AB, Laura and Devon Groves both of Carbonear, NL. He will forever be missed by his brother Ira of Stephenville, NL; sisters Nora Greene and Muriel (Alex) Button both of Port aux Basques, NL; sister-in-law Gladys Kendell of Corner Brook, NL as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Eric was the son of the late Josiah and Rachel Kendell (nee McDonald). He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Henry and Josephine Read (nee Chant); brothers Roderick Kendell, Charles Kendell, Malcolm Kendell; sisters Una Kendell, Kay Fiander, Rita Beaton; grandchildren Kirk Devoe, Gary Devoe; brothers-in-law Russell Beaton, George Fiander, Darrell Greene and sister-in-law Vera Kendell.
Friends visited Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy, NL on Monday, April 30th, 2018 from 7-9 pm. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at 2 pm from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Harold Harvey with interment followed at the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, 835 Topsail Road, Unit 107, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 3J6.
