Ella Edith (Read) Sears

SACKVILLE, N.B.– It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Ella Edith Sears, on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on April 27, 2018. Ella passed away peacefully at the age of 88.
Born on December 9, 1929, Ella was the daughter of the late Ida (Buck) and John Read.
Ella was a school bus driver for 42 years and was very active in the Union. She was a member of the Sackville Senior Citizen’s Club and held many positions there. In her younger years, Ella enjoyed parties and dancing, playing cards, quilting and cooking. Ella’s home was always a great place to drop in and visit, with plenty of tasty food to eat. She was always thinking of others and if anyone needed something Ella was always there to help.
Ella will be lovingly remembered by her children, Barb (Hugh) Smith of Sackville, N.B., Janet (Val) Bourque of Sackville, N.B. and Sherry (Wade) MacKenzie of PEI; her sister, Shirley McCarthy of Sackville, N.B.; her son-in-law, Ron Estabrooks of Sackville, N.B.; her daughter-in-law, Muriel Sears of Alberta; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her 3 half-sisters, Cheryl, Bonnie and Sue, as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Vernon Henry Sears; her daughter, Shirley Estabrooks, her son, Vernon “Jake” Sears; her sisters, Barb O’Neil and Gertrude Wilson; her brother, Ronald Read, as well as by her half-brother, John “Buddy”.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours took place at the funeral home on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm. The funeral service took place at 2:30 pm with Rev. Mark Reece officiating. Burial took place in the Four Corners Cemetery.
