It is with sadness that the family of Gertrude Anne McNaughton announce her passing on May 1st, 2018 in Charlottetown. We are grateful for her ninety six years of life. We are grateful that, at the age of eighty nine, she chose to move from her home in Ontario to live nearer to us here on PEI. We are most grateful that she went to sleep surrounded by the quiet peace, comfort and care provided at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre. Gertie was mother to Louise Croken (Alfred), Long Creek; Mary Paquet (Barry), Charlottetown and Bill McNaughton (Cathy), Fredericton, NB. She was grandmother to Shelley, Susan, Sean, Scott, Christy, Heather, Ashley and Lacy. To Chloe, Keighly, Ashlyn, Hailey, Alexis, Ayla, Zoey, Vayda and Peyton, she was Great Granny Gertie. She loved that! We will each cherish the many, many memories we have of her. Predeceased by her husband James Robert McNaughton. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, no funeral or visitation by request. Cremation has taken place and Gertie will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jim, at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Brantford, Ontario.
