Ferne MacLennan
Ferne Miriam MacLennan, 78, passed away on May 3rd 2018, at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Pugwash, after a brief yet courageous battle with neuroendocrine carcinoma.
Born in Glace Bay, NS, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Thelma (Coombes) Pyke. Ferne is predeceased by her brothers Allie and Andrew. Ferne is survived by her husband Colin Hepburn MacLennan (Buddy) of 34 years, her children from her first marriage Joanne Hicks (Dave), Dorothy Brown (Colin), Violet Brown (Richard) and Joseph Munden; her grandchildren Jennifer, William, Daniel and David, her sisters Marilyn Clermont (JP), Arlyle Siscoe (Victor), brothers Edwin Pyke (Sandra), Stephen Pyke (Janice), and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ferne's life will be held at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 13611 Hwy 6 Wallace on Monday May 7th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the hospital auxiliary in Ferne's name.
