Passed peacefully away, Friday May 4, 2018, at the Palliative Care Unit Miller Centre, Eric Stevens (Poppa Smurf to his great-grandchildren and Zekie to his friends), aged 72 years. Predeceased by his parents, Archibald and Esther (nee Locke); brothers, Archibald (Bertha), Fred (Rita), Alex and Llewelyn; and sisters, Violet and Edina. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Pauline (nee Smith); four beautiful children, Sherri, Tammy, Don (Sandy) and Jamie; his six precious grandchildren, Adam (Alyssa), Kristen (Evan), Brady, Katie, Adrian and Carter; his adorable great-grandchildren, Cruz, Kellan and Carson; brothers, Levi, Charlie (Clara), Gil (Shirley); sisters, Mary (Lewis) and Florence; sisters-in-law, Marie, Sharon, Marilyn (Charlie); brothers-in-law, Harvey (Patsy), Gordon (Judie-deceased), Dennis (Janice) and Albert (Betty) (Louise-deceased); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to the angels at the Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. At Eric’s request there will be no visitation and no flowers. Funeral service will be held at St. Phillip’s Anglican Church in St. Phillip’s on Tuesday May 8th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the adjoining Parish Centre.
