Passed peacefully after a brief illness at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 (the day before his 82nd birthday) surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents; Agnes (1986) and Nicholas (1990); his siblings: Martin (Rosemary, dec.), Tommy (Annie, dec.) and Gordon. Leaving to mourn are his brothers Gerald (Maureen) and David (Tish); his sister-in-law and original caregiver Kay Roche; his loving aunt Mary C. Roche of Outer Cove; nephews and nieces Tim (Kelly) Roche, Shawn Roche, Raylene (Shawn) Manning, Janine Roche, Tina Roche, Aaron (Danielle) Roche and John Paul Roche; great-nieces Sydney Roche and Eva Roche; great-nephew Matthew Manning. Simon also leaves behind many cousins, other relatives and friends in this province, and the Roche family members in Gulf Breeze and Pensacola, Florida. A very special thank you is extended to Ray and Anne (dec.) Dinn (Goulds) and their family members, for the exceptional love and care given to Simon over the years. He was always treated as one of their own. For this, we have always been grateful. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, TORBAY. Visitation on Tuesday, May 8 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 9 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Francis of Assisi Church, Outer Cove. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
