TAYLOR, Debrah Darlene “Debbie” – 55, Brookfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday afternoon, May 11, 2018, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of Frank Taylor, Brookfield. Debbie had an adventurous spirit and lived life to its fullest. She traveled all over Canada, lived in Ontario for a number of years and then made her home in Nova Scotia where she enjoyed exploring, especially the beach in Economy. She was a wonderful caregiver to her father and she enjoyed taking him and the family for drives. She worked as a cook for most of her life in various places, and worked at Fletcher’s Restaurant in Truro and most recently at Masstown Market (Catch of the Bay Fish and Chip Boat). Along with her father, Debbie is survived by her sisters, Belinda Taylor-Woodland (Sam Woodland), Lower Sackville; Shelley Whitman, Truro; Lisa Taylor, Brookfield; nephews, Tyler, Colby, Ryan, Jason; best friend by chance and sister by choice, Lucy Drew, St. John’s, Newfoundland. She was predeceased by her step-mother, Violet “Mae” Taylor. Debbie’s family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2018, at 190 John Bell Road, Brookfield; please come and celebrate Debbie’s life with us and share your stories. Interment will be held at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Special thanks are extended to the staff of VG Site, Halifax (8th floor) and Palliative Care Unit (Colchester East Hants Health Centre) for your wonderful care and support. If so desired, donations in Debbie’s memory to Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
