Milan Kenneth William Halverson

HALVERSON, Milan Kenneth William – 88, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, with loving family at his side, on Sunday morning, May 13, 2018, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Malagash, he was a son of the late William and Iva (MacNutt) Halverson. At a very young age and up until the time of his death, Milan took a great interest in anything and everything to do with airplanes and aviation; from making model airplanes with wood and tissues, doing 1000 piece puzzles or reading his collection of books and magazines, it was his dream to become a pilot. He was self-employed as an electrician and later worked at Polymer International until his retirement in 1995. Milan is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Reta Maxine (Kaulback, Hirtle); children, Sonja Halverson, Truro; Shelley Duvall, Debert; Toni Halverson (Normand Landry), Middle Sackville; Michael (Heather) Halverson, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Tanya (Alex) Gradet, Suzanne Fernandes, Sally Duvall, Simon (Jennie) Duvall, Sheri Duvall, Courtney Johnston, Kelsey Johnston; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Cavanaugh, Tacoma, Washington, USA; four nieces. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Vila (Gordon) Smith. Special thanks are extended to the wonderful staff of Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for your care and support. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Milan’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018, and funeral service 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018, Reverend Kaj Binderup officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Richmond Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Milan’s memory to Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) are welcomed.
