Lois Constance “Loie”   Stevenson

With sad hearts, but joy in a life well lived, the family of Loie C. Stevenson announce her passing on Mother’s Day, May 13th, 2018, at the age of 93 years. She and her twin sister Betty were born at home on Ambrose Street in Charlottetown on March 1, 1925. Loie was one of seven children born to Fred and Bessie Holman. Beloved mother of Donald Stevenson (Sandra) of Fredericton, N.B., Douglas Stevenson (Marg) of Dartmouth, N.S., Barb Stevenson (Grant Canvin), and Heather Stevenson (Parker Grimmer) of Charlottetown. She also leaves 10 grandchildren whom she adored and who affectionately called her Grammie Loie. They include, Constance Duncan (Scott), Daniel Stevenson (Sara), Michael Stevenson, Dean Stevenson (Heidi), David Canvin, Susanne Canvin (Scott), Douglas Eamer (Kerri), Mitchell Eamer, John Grimmer, and Maggie Grimmer. She was also Great Grammie to 9 great grandchildren; Jake, Burke, Benjamin, James, Samuel, Connor, Ava, Collins, and Jack. Predeceased by her siblings, Cliff, Reg, Eileen, Marion, Betty, and Ralph. Also, Connie’s mother and Loie’s friend Cheryl MacLean and daughter-in-law Carolyn Layden-Stevenson. Loie took great pride as a dedicated and loyal employee for many years at the Lady Charlotte Shop in Henderson & Cudmore in Charlottetown. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, 175 Belvedere Avenue, Charlottetown. Visitation on Thursday, May 17, 2018 between 3-7 p.m. Her funeral service will take place at Belvedere Funeral Home on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. Special thanks to the staff of Andrews of Stratford for their loving care during the past year.
