Gary 'Kenzie' MacLeod

We, the family of Gary ‘Kenzie’ MacLeod, regret to announce his passing (age 70) at An Cala Palliative Care on May 14, 2018. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Stanley and Ella (MacAskill) MacLeod of MacArthurs Lane, Prime Brook.
He was a carpenter by trade and worked for Ells and Sawler in his earlier years. He was an avid walker and liked the outdoors. He liked the simple life, being with friends and family, and loved his Cape Breton dinners.
He is survived by his son, Gerald; sisters, Katherine (Harry) MacInnis, Diane MacLeod, Judy (Neil) MacMullen; brothers, Gerald, Earl and Keith (Phylis), as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by special friends, Valerie and Ron Bobbett, and Donald Moore.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie, and brother, Donnie.
Visitation will take place from 12-2 p.m., Thursday May 17 at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
A Celebration of his life will take place immediately following at 2 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate. Reception to follow.
