It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Mary Matilda Oakes (nee Cullins) announces her passing after a brief illness at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at the age of 69 years. Born in Florenceville, NB, Mary was the daughter of the late Harold and Alma Cullins (nee Chase). She was also predeceased by her husband Douglas Oakes; three siblings Otis Cullins, Gary Cullins, and Patricia (Fred) Shaw.
Mary leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her three children Lorelei (Eric) Ritchie of Greenfield, NB, Todd Oakes of Northern Alberta, Amy (Brad) Moore of Codroy, NL; six grandchildren Cole Ritchie, Drew Ritchie, Kate Ritchie, Jared Moore, Veronica Moore, Corrine Moore; siblings Dale (Anna) Cullins, Elizabeth (Leverett) McElhinney, Bobby (Judy) Cullins, Terry (Eva) Cullins, Penny (Bob) McCormack, Arnold (Marilyn) Cullins, Judy (Tom) Keogh, Doug (Diane) Cullins, Denise (Steve) Fournier plus several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place Mineral Cemetery in New Brunswick at a later date.
