Edward A. Guergis

Edward A. Guergis Sr. 81, of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, passed peacefully at Prince County Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife Alice, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edward was the son of the late George and Bertha (Nordine) Guergis. Survived by his wife Alice (Leger) Guergis; children Natalie Guergis (Ean St. Claire) and Edward (Shirley); grandchildren Nicholas, Jordan, Ashley (Stefan), Mitchell (Angele), and Garrett; great-grandchildren Alivia, Ryder, Kenlea, Cohen, Preston and Roya. Also survived by his brothers Karam (Linda), George Jr. (Late Patricia) and Conrad (Patricia). Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, 150 Summer St., Summerside. Visitation Friday May 18th 5 – 8 p.m. Funeral service to be held Saturday, May 19th at 2 p.m. at the Summerside Presbyterian Church, 130 Victoria Rd. Interment to follow in the Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Edward was instrumental in the building of Essa Arena, Angus, Ontario and a founding member of the Aquateers of Canada. Certified black belt Judo Sensei; Councilor & Deputy Reeve in Angus, Ontario as well as a member of the Masonic Kerr Lodge and a 32nd Degree Shriner. Edward was a self-made entrepreneur who enjoyed his active role in his community. Memorial donations can be made to Generation XX which is a local organization that has been actively engaging the youth of our community since 1997. www.moase.ca
