Ula Byrne

Ula Byrne

One year ago, on May 29, 2017, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Ula Byrne (nee Wentzell) went to her eternal rest to rejoin her ever devoted husband, Gerald, who passed away in 1996.

Ula’s family would like to express our personal gratitude to those who brought food, sent flowers, made donations in her memory and remembered Ula fondly through the personal reflections on so many beautiful cards, emails, and online messages.

Ula had many friends and family members who blessed her life. In the days before and following her passing, we too were blessed by these friendships. Thank you to all her family and friends who travelled great distances to attend her funeral.

A special thank you is extended to Wendy Woodland, Dr. Doreen Klassen, Rt. Rev. Baxter Park, Archbishop Payne, the choir and lay ministers of St. John the Evangelist Cathedral for a wonderful celebration of Mom’s life. Thank you to Florence and Glen from Fillatre’s for their guidance in preparing for Ula’s farewell. Heartfelt thanks is extended to Barb Baker and her caregivers at Mountainview in Corner Brook and to all her caregivers throughout her last 20 years. There are no words to fully express our gratitude to Dr. Dave Coleman and his team for the wonderful care to our mother.

Although Mom’s final years were without Dad, her sisters, particularly Hughena and Sylvia, were there for her whenever called upon. Your love for Mom was unconditional and much appreciated.

A final thanks is reserved for Ula’s many, many friends. Your friendship and your support to her, and to us, is what we remember and give thanks for the most.

Always loved, missed, and never forgotten,
Gerry, Derek, Stephen, and families
