At home on Friday, June 1, 2018 of Peter R. Griesbauer, Stratford, age 75 years. Dear father of Susi Grassl, Hardy Griesbauer (Gretchen Prystawik), Petra Roche (Lionel) and Heidi Douglas (Jeff). Loving grandfather of Lisa and Anna Grassl; Louise and Maria Griesbauer; Alexis and Nellie Roche. Peter moved to the Island in 1973 and immediately knew he had found his Paradise and the perfect place to raise a family. An avid sailor, Peter spent the next 44 summers having grand adventures on the high seas throughout the Maritimes. When not on his sailboat, Peter dedicated his life to education, teaching at Queen Charlotte and Charlottetown Rural High Schools (sometimes under the pseudonym of "Papa Smurf"). He then extended his passion through the Department of Education and after retirement, teaching with the Senior's College at UPEI. Peter had a deep love of learning and he shared this with all he knew, especially his family. He was immensely proud of his kids and grandkids and is deeply loved and missed.
